The Indian cricket team's break till March just got cut short. The players will fly to Colombo end-January to play five ODIs and a Twenty20 international. Sri Lankan sports minister Gamini Lokuge and BCCI secretary N Srinivasan made an announcement to this effect on Tuesday.
"We are preparing the itinerary. The dates and the venues will be announced on Wednesday," Lokuge told HT. Lokuge said Sri Lanka, who are off to Pakistan on January 20 for a series, would take a break after the one-day matches to play India.
Lokuge said the participation of Sri Lankan players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was also discussed in detail. "We will be with the BCCI on the IPL and send our players to participate in the forthcoming chapter. We will also support the BCCI's stand on the Indian Cricket League (ICL)," Lokuge said.
