Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 129 runs

Sri Lanka finish their innings at a very healthy 290/8. They lost a couple of wickets at crucial intervals and perhaps that left them 20 runs short. They were propelled by Dilshan (76) and Kandamby (59) with Kapugedera (44) playing nicely towards the end. Shoaib Akhtar was epxensive while Umar Gul (4/57) was the primary wicket taker for Pakistan. It will be a tough chase but Pakistan have the incentive of winning the series if they chase this down. Should be brilliant!

Sri Lanka have beaten Pakistan in the second ODI of the 3-match ODI series by 129 runs to level it 1-1. It was a strong batting performance by Sri Lanka who got to 290 with Dilshan taking the lead scoring 76, who was well supported by Kandamby(59) who got to his maiden ODI 50 and Kapugedera(44) who got a valuable 44 at the end of the innings. Pakistan started poorly losing three early wickets with the score at 17 but skipper Shoaib Malik(54) and Salman Butt(62) steadied the ship with a 108 run partnership but once Malik and Butt both got out with the score at 125 the rest of the batsmen failed to make an impact and could not survive the spin attack of Muralidaran and Mendis who picked up 3 wickets each bowling Pakistan all out for 161.
